Travel & Tournament Guide
Tournament Schedule
UFA teams attend both local and out-of-state events throughout the year. All scheduled tournaments will appear on your team calendar in PlayMetrics. Your coach will communicate specific details for each event.
Are Tournaments Included in Fees?
Yes tournaments planned by the club are included in your program fees. Any extra events added outside of the club's planned schedule may carry an additional cost, which will be communicated in advance.
Hotel Blocks
For out-of-state and overnight events, your team manager will coordinate hotel blocks. Wait for their communication before booking accommodations independently team blocks often come with preferred rates.
Stay Up to Date
Check your PlayMetrics calendar regularly for tournament dates, locations, and game times. Schedules can update as brackets are finalized always verify before making travel arrangements.
Tips for Tournament Weekends
-
1
Arrive 40 minutes before kickoff. Players need time to warm up, check in, and get organized. Parking at tournament venues fills fast plan accordingly.
-
2
Wait for your team manager on hotels. For overnight tournaments, your manager will set up a hotel block. Booking on your own before that block is released may mean missing out on group rates or staying away from the team.
-
3
Know what's included. Club-planned tournaments are covered in your fees. If your team adds an event outside the original schedule, your coach or manager will let you know if there's an extra cost before any commitment is made.
-
4
Pack the essentials. Full uniform kit, shin guards, cleats, water bottle, snacks, sunscreen, and a camp chair. For out-of-state trips, bring layers weather varies.
-
5
Stay on the spectator side. UFA asks all parents and family to remain in designated spectator areas. Let the coaches coach your player will thank you for the space to focus and compete.

What to Expect: Player Development
Our Philosophy
UFA develops the whole player not just soccer skills. We focus on technical ability, tactical awareness, physical conditioning, and character. We believe sport is one of the best classrooms in life.
Playing Time
Competitive teams are performance-based. Playing time is earned and determined by coaches based on effort, attitude, and development not just results. Our development teams prioritize equal participation.
How Parents Can Help
The best thing you can do is encourage effort over outcomes. Cheer for your player and their teammates. Trust the coaches and the process. A positive sideline makes a real difference.
Long-Term Outlook
UFA provides a clear pathway from recreational to competitive to advanced play, including college recruitment guidance for older players. We're invested in your player's journey at every stage.
